Dr. Winkelmann is a Diplomate of the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine and received his certification in treating Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) with Oral Appliance Therapy. He’s been treating patients with sleep disorders since 2002, spending time with technicians at a sleep lab to obtain first-hand experience in diagnosing sleep apnea and snoring.
Continuing his journey to provide relief to sleep apnea patients, Dr. Winkelmann later went through the process of achieving and maintaining his membership in the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine. He later started The CPAP Alternative to help people with various sleep-breathing disorders in Wake Forest, NC, and the surrounding areas including Rolesville, Youngsville, Louisburg, and Franklinton, NC.
With over 20 years of experience, Dr. Winkelmann is a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry and has been regularly chosen by the Consumer Research Council as one of America’s Top Dentists.

Personal Life
Dr. Craig Winkelmann currently lives in Cary, NC with his son and cat, Buster. He’s an active member of the Boy Scouts of America and has volunteered for the Civil Air Patrol. He also founded the precision formation flying team, which is known as The Bandit Flight Team.
